Join us at the Merrymeeting Arts Center Gallery during the month of November to experience the unique art exhibit “Cover to Cover: The Art of Book Covers”.
The gallery will be open:
- Tuesdays (11/7, 11/14, 11/21), 1:00 – 5:00PM
- Thursdays (11/9, 11/16), 1:00 – 5:00PM
- Saturdays (11/4, 11/25), 9:00AM – 4:00 PM.
The show will offer three different ways to celebrate the beautiful art of book covers:
- A gallery exhibit of different types of book cover art and examples of each type, in the main gallery area
- A silent auction of five pieces of original art made by Wendy Rose and Kate Cutko, made from discarded book covers and modelled after traditional patchwork quilt patterns, with framing was generously done by Bruce Knight.
- a sale of some lovely old books.
The sale of the books and the art will raise funds for the library.
This show will open on November 3, and run throughout the month, at the Merrymeeting Arts Center, 9 Main St. Bowdoinham.
