Our Summer Reading Program theme is all things Chris Van Dusen!  Not only is Mr. Van Dusen a writer/ illustrator of many award-winning children’s books, but he is also a Mainer!

What a joy it was to have Chris Van Dusen come to Bowdoinham! 80-90 of you showed up, listened to three stories, asked good questions and got your beloved books signed. Chris was generous, entertaining, and patient. He loved the camper inspired by Camping Spree with Mr Magee (almost as much as Carter enjoyed showing it to him). The farmers market vendors showered him with gifts (bread and scones, and pickled beets and carrots inspired by Mr Magee’s picnic. Thank you to all of you that helped make this day magical . Especially Jennifer Stonebraker who got as obsessed with the theme as I did.
