The Merrymeeting Arts Center and the Bowdoinham Public Library are pleased to announce that renowned local artist Howard Solomon has generously donated a collection of original artworks to support the two community nonprofits. The pieces will be featured in an upcoming auction at the Merrymeeting Arts Center gallery.
Solomon, who has been active in the regional arts scene for over two decades, will contribute many pieces to the auction. The event aims to raise critical funds that will expand educational workshops at the Arts Center and collection development at the library.

The show, titled “Local Artist Quits Art, Sells Everything”, will take place over two days. Opening night and the first chance to bid will be Friday, September 11th from 5-8 pm at the Merrymeeting Arts Center gallery. The final day will be Saturday, September 12 from 11-4pm, which coincides with “Celebrate Bowdoinham”.
All proceeds will be split between the Arts Center and the Library, to be used for collection development and programming.
